Introduction to SketchUp

What is Google SketchUp?

Google SketchUp is a 3D modeling program that includes features to facilitate the placement of models in Google Earth. SketchUp is a program designed to be more user-friendly than other 3D programs.

Unit 1 Reflection

So far in this class, I have learned a lot of things. I have learned small skills in photoshop as well as understand how to create blogs, resumes, cover letters, and forms necessary to build a business. I think these things will be useful to me because I will have a background knowledge on how to apply for jobs and also how to promote job businesses. I think I would use google docs outside of the class to make presentations and spreadsheets because it would be helpful for projects in school and university. I find that MM tech is helpful to students who want to gain a little knowledge about businesses and other useful skills like photoshop. 

Business Proposal

The type of business I plan on creating is a restaurant inside the school. It would be food that is pre-made and will be open during break and lunch. The students pay based on the price of the food. It would be better than just a canteen because there would be a lot of places to sit (like an actual restaurant) and also a lot of people working there (so people can get their food faster). Some of the things I plan on selling include: sandwiches, burgers, side dishes, drinks, and also deserts. 
The target audience for this business will be the students/teenagers who are in the school. I believe that this business will be successful because it will be a faster way for students to get food during the breaks and also it would be fun to have a restaurant at the school. 

Welcome!

This is the very first post for my blog. My name is Sophia Al-Khamis and I'm a junior at the American School of Kuwait. One of the classes I'm taking this year is called MM tech and this class is the reason I'm making this blog. One of the main things I hope to learn in this class is to gain a basic knowledge of internet and technology.

This year will be my fifth year at ASK and I plan on graduating from this school. I first transferred to ASK in 7th grade and I haven't regret it ever since. Each year gets more challenging but I know that in the end it will all be worth it.  

I come from two very different backgrounds. My mom is American and my dad is Kuwaiti. I like being from two different cultures because I get to learn a lot about both of the cultures. I also like being from two places because I like diversity. Another benefit is that I get to celebrate twice the amount of holidays :). 

This summer was one of the best. We went to NYC and California for fun, Ohio to visit family and friends, and I got to go to Virginia for a summer camp. I miss summer vacation and I wish I could go back. However, I think junior year will be a great year and I'm happy to be back home.
